On this 7-night voyage, enjoy the beautiful and clear waters of the Great Lakes, the largest freshwater ecosystem in the world. Wind down with the slow-paced lifestyle of Mackinac Island where visitors and residents travel by bicycle, horse-drawn carriage, or on foot. If you are keeping your boat on a trailer or dolly at the LakeSide Inn, register at the yacht club and proceed to the LakeSide Inn (South on South Shore Dr). You can put your boat in the gravel area on the North side of the ramp next to the condos. Be aware, there are trees and powerlines on the South side of the ramp next to the hotel.

Cancellations will be posted on our website and Facebook. It is the vendor’s responsibility to monitor any changes, cancellations and use their own discretion. A vendor map layout will be emailed each week with their designated number and location. It is the vendor’s responsibility to check their location EACH WEEK, as circumstances arise to adjust spots. Electricity is limited and only available near City Park. Vendors must communicate with Event staff if this is needed.

The event’s grand marshals Don and Flo Hauge, who retired from Don’s Body Shop in Clear Lake and are longtime members of C.L.A.S.S., will be in the cruise’s second car. A society member’s car will conclude the cruise. The two-day event features a car cruise Friday, Aug. 2 and a car show Saturday, Aug. 3, — both contain hundreds of automobiles from North Iowa and throughout the Midwest. Move your boat from the trailer to dolly and then roll it to the beach area. Ask for help to roll it from the sidewalk to the beach. If you are keeping it on a host dock, rig your boat and launch it on the ramp and request a tow to your host dock. If you don’t know where the dock is, you will be given an address at registration. It has a lot of sharp edges and is not friendly to small boats. Just keep an eye on your boat and you should not have an issue.

Event spaces for trailers are limited and assigned to designated areas for the safety of the public and other vendors. Trailers will be required to unhook from vehicles and park off-site, unless approved by Event staff. Saturday night’s party is a private residence, 2001 North Shore Dr.  We will have food and an open bar.

We want to be sure our club does not get into any hot water. For those boats launching from their trailers each day at the yacht club, we will have two ATVs to assist with launching. You should NOT bring your own vehicle into the ramp area.

The C.L.A.S.S. appreciates the support it receives from local and county officials, businesses and community members during the event and throughout the year. More than 500 automobiles will line the streets of downtown Clear Lake from noon-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, for the Show and Shine Car Show. Experience unique ports of call in the surrounding states and provinces as you cruise through the magnificent Great Lakes. Saturday’s race winner trophies will be awarded Saturday night at the party. The classic cars could be anything from Model A’s to brand new Corvettes and everything in between. Stick around beautiful downtown Clear Lake, because The Hepperly Band is going to put on a show in the bandshell from 7-11pm. They are “North Iowa’s Best Variety Band” and will be playing all your favorite hits.

They also own a 1974 Pinto and a 1965 Falcon, both of which have appeared on the streets of Clear Lake during the Fourth of July parade.
